Singapore / Tampa, FL / Lymington, UK — 4 May 2026
SAMASER Holdings Pte Ltd, the Singapore-based marine investment group, today announced the acquisition of Optima Projects Limited — trading as Optima Yachts — through its electric boat brand Prana Boats. The acquisition brings together Optima’s acclaimed electric vessel technology and Prana Boats’ proven manufacturing capability, creating a formidable force in the global zero-emission marine industry.
At the heart of the acquisition is the Optima e10 — a technically advanced electric yacht that represents the state of the art in zero-emission performance sailing. Designed by renowned naval architect David Kendall, the e10 delivers exceptional range, near-silent operation, and a hull form optimised for both offshore capability and coastal cruising. Its fully electric drivetrain eliminates fuel dependency entirely, offering owners a cleaner, quieter, and more responsive on-water experience than any conventional vessel of comparable size.
Joining the e10 in Prana Boats’ expanded lineup is the Optima e14 — a larger electric yacht platform and its dedicated water taxi variant. The e14 extends the performance envelope established by the e10, offering greater beam, increased passenger capacity, and a powertrain architecture scalable for both private and commercial applications. Together, the e10 and e14 form a comprehensive electric vessel family engineered to the highest British naval architecture standards, covering leisure sailing, luxury day cruising, and zero-emission commercial waterway transport.

| “The Optima e10 and e14 are not incremental improvements — they are a fundamental rethinking of what an electric yacht can be. Bringing these designs into the Prana Boats family gives us a technology foundation that is genuinely world-leading.” — SAMASER Holdings, on behalf of Prana Boats |
Prana Boats brings to this partnership a manufacturing platform built for scale. Headquartered in Tampa Bay, Florida, Prana Boats combines American design heritage with a primary factory base in Vietnam — a country with more than 40 years of deep boat-building tradition and a skilled marine manufacturing workforce that rivals any in the world. This dual-continent model gives Prana Boats the agility to design and engineer in the United States while achieving the production volumes and cost efficiency required to bring premium electric vessels to a genuinely global market.
Vietnam’s boat-building industry, long celebrated for its craftsmanship in timber and fibreglass construction, has in recent decades evolved into a sophisticated manufacturing base capable of producing vessels to international classification standards. Prana Boats’ Vietnam facility draws on this deep legacy while integrating modern electric propulsion assembly, composite construction techniques, and quality systems aligned with the demands of the global leisure and commercial marine sectors.
| “Prana Boats was built on the belief that Vietnamese craftsmanship and American design ambition, combined with the right technology, could produce something extraordinary. The Optima e10 and e14 are exactly the right technology.” — David Kendall, Co-founder, Optima Yachts |
The combined entity will develop and manufacture the Optima e10 and e14 under the Prana Boats brand, with production planned at the Vietnam facility to meet anticipated international demand. The Optima Yachts brand, all intellectual property, design drawings, and the original e10 prototype have transferred to Prana Boats in full, ensuring continuity of the engineering excellence that has defined Optima since its founding.
Prana Boats’ existing Classic series — already recognised for its commitment to electric propulsion and sustainable luxury — is further strengthened by the addition of the British-engineered Optima range, giving the brand a vessel lineup that spans classic American lake and river cruising through to high-performance offshore electric sailing and zero-emission commercial water transport.
